Ting bid farewell to everything she knew when she migrated to Brisbane from Singapore. Saying goodbye to her dysfunctional family and failed romance in Singapore, Ting Lim braced herself for a new life in Brisbane. In her quest for a new beginning here, she has been attacked by a bush turkey and became the object of unrequited love from border security. Who knew freedom had a price?

How do you find your feet in a strange new world? How do you navigate between two distinctive cultures? What the hell are Singapore Noodles? Ting explores these questions using her dark wit and easy charm in a hilarious hour of comedic catharsis, outrage and pure silliness.

Ting has performed with the likes of Dilruk Jayasinha, Jimeoin and Rove McManus. In 2019, Ting opened for Demetri Martin and was handpicked to be part of the Outback Comedy Roadshow.

Now, after a sold-out run at the Perth Fringeworld, Ting is debuting her first solo show at the Bris Funny Fest.

"Funny, charming stuff..." - The Heckler
"Hilariously recounts stories..." - Brisbane Stage
“4 stars.. No shortage of laughs…” - The Western Australian
“Easily drew many laughs…” - Weekend Notes Adelaide

About the Artist
Singaporean-born Ting Lim is a beloved favourite on the Brisbane comedy scene. With an easy charm, her darkly intelligent observations have made her rising star in Australian comedy. Her distinctive style and skillfully crafted punchlines bring a breath of fresh air to the stage.

Bursting onto the scene in 2009, she was handpicked to represent Queensland in the prestigious Melbourne International RAW national comedy finals. Her momentum never faltered and she, once again, represented her adopted home state in the coveted Green Faces national competition in the very same year.

She quickly became a regular at the Sit Down Comedy Club and with performances across Australia, New York and Singapore, alongside comedy heavyweights such as Rove McManus, Tommy Little, Frank Woodley and Claire Hooper.

Daring, razor-sharp and infectious, Ting is a true up-and-comer - follow this journey as it's nowhere near done yet!
